Week of March 24 - March 28

Monday – Friday C.O.W. will be in the classroom to use for research all week.   NO SCHOOL FRIDAY!   Don't forget if you signed up to volunteer at the benefit at the Bowling Alley in Spring Green on Saturday, March 30th! There will be a subsitute teacher this week for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Activities Students are researching material for their class topic and preparing a portfolio/documentation binder/and presentation. Students explored samples from previous portfolios. Students reviewed easy bib and how to create an annotated bibliography. http://www.easybib.com/ Students used their essay planner to begin their research.   The project's deadlines are established on this form:Project Citizen Important Deadlines

Assignment: Each group must have 10 sources by the end of this week.   Each group must have their draft essay completed by Thursday, March 28 This project is an in class project – however there may be various activities students need to work on outside of class as deemed necessary by their group. Completed Projects must be completed by Thursday, April 22.

Monday Project Citizen IntroWhat is Public Policy?	Activities:Students will define public policy and write definitions on board. Students will complete activity to determine difference between public policy and civil society	Assignment:  Due Tomorrow:  1. "What's Your Issue" assignment from last Friday 2. Finish Public Policy Worksheet from class today.
Tuesday Vote on Project Topic	Activities:Students will present their issue ideas and the class will discuss each and come to consensus on a topic.	Assignment: No homework tonight

Friday What is Project Citizen?  POWER POINT   Objective:  Students will understand the program Project Citizen and how it will be used in the classroom.	Activities  Students will watch power point on Project Citizen Students will watch Kid President's Pep Talk - See below.	Homework Assignment: What's Your Issue? Interview someone (can’t be a teacher or someone who works at school) for a local, state, and national issue to consider for Project Citizen.
