Lesson Plans week of June 1 – June 5
Monday Legislative and Executive Branch of Government	Activities Students will watch The American President.  Students will have a culminating activity on Monday where they will identify the White House Staff positions, the job of a lobbyist, interest groups, campaign tactics, checks and balances, and the role of the President in the capacity of chief executive, administrator, of party, citizen, diplomat, of State, Commander and Chief and Chief Legislator.	Assignment: Students must complete the packet related to the movie.

Monday– Wednesday Project Citizen	Activities Mon:  Students will start the week practicing their presentations. Tues:  Students will have their final presentations. Wed:  Students will complete reflections and peer reviews.	Assignment: This project is an in class project – however there may be various activities students need to work on outside of class as deemed necessary to be ready for their presentation.

Lesson Plans for Week of April 27 - May 1

Monday– Friday C.O.W. will be in the classroom to use for research all week. Class Topics: 1st Hour – School Funding 5th Hour – Minimum Wage 7th Hour – Police Violence 9th Hour – Fracking	Activities Students are researching material for their class topic and preparing a portfolio/documentation binder/and presentation.  Students explored samples from previous portfolios. Students will use easy bib to create an annotated bibliography.  http://www.easybib.com/ Students will use their essay planner and rubrics to begin their research.	Assignment: Each group must have their weekly goals turned in on Monday by the end of class. This project is an in class project – however there may be various activities students need to work on outside of class as deemed necessary by their group.
