1.Find a magazine advertisement that is designed to appeal to YOU (make you want it). (5 points)

2.Tape your magazine advertisement to a piece of paper and answer the following questions. (5 points)
3.Does it make you feel like you would fit in/belong/be smarter/have more energy/be better looking, etc. if you had this product.  Yes or No? Why?  (5 points)
4.Identify what about the product makes you want to buy it. (5 points)
5.Also, share if you TRULY believe that the product would affect your life in the way the advertising suggests.  (5 points)

Tuesday   Affluenza		Activities:     CNN News Affluenza power point continued. Video Clip Students will do a magazine search to find marketing advertisements aimed at adolescents.	Assignment: Finish Interview!
Wednesday & Thursday Affluenza		Activities   Students will use the family interview sheet to do writing assignment or graphic representation of “the good life”.   Present on Thursday or Friday	Assignment:   Use family interview sheet to either do writing assignment: Compare and contrast possessions and money with those held by parents and grandparents. How has having fewer or greater material goods affected your life? Or, create a magazine, painting, or some graphic representation of “The Good Life”. What does this mean to you?
Friday The Good Life/Affluenza	Activities Students will present their “Good Life” projects.		Assignment:   No homework

Monday		Activities CNN News Power Point on the Labor movement in our economy.  Students  will take notes. Students will watch video clip on Fast Food workers and living on a minimum wage	Assignment: Students will be given the Labor Management simulation notes.  Students must prepare for a simulation to take place on Friday.   Extra Credit:  What does the CEO of Burger King, McDonalds, or KFC make per year?  Find out and share tomorrow in class.
Tuesday		Activities: CNN News Labor/Management Negotiation Simulation Students will be divided into two teams – labor or management.  They will need to negotiate to create a contract and attempt to meet their demands.	Assignment: TEST FRIDAY!
Wednesday Consumerism & Image		Activities CNN News Consumerism Power Point will utilize song lyrics by Macklemore “Wings”	Assignment:   TEST FRIDAY!
