1.Find a magazine advertisement that is designed to appeal to YOU (make you want it). (5 points)

2.Tape your magazine advertisement to a piece of paper and answer the following questions. (5 points)
3.Does it make you feel like you would fit in/belong/be smarter/have more energy/be better looking, etc. if you had this product.  Yes or No? Why?  (5 points)
4.Identify what about the product makes you want to buy it. (5 points)
5.Also, share if you TRULY believe that the product would affect your life in the way the advertising suggests.  (5 points)

Wednesday & Thursday Affluenza		Activities   Students will use the family interview sheet to do writing assignment or graphic representation of “the good life”.   Present on Thursday or Friday	Assignment:   Use family interview sheet to either do writing assignment: Compare and contrast possessions and money with those held by parents and grandparents. How has having fewer or greater material goods affected your life? Or, create a magazine, painting, or some graphic representation of “The Good Life”. What does this mean to you?

Monday		Activities CNN News Power Point on the Labor movement in our economy.  Students  will take notes. Students will watch video clip on Fast Food workers and living on a minimum wage	Assignment: Students will be given the Labor Management simulation notes.  Students must prepare for a simulation to take place on Friday.   Extra Credit:  What does the CEO of Burger King, McDonalds, or KFC make per year?  Find out and share tomorrow in class.
Tuesday		Activities: CNN News Labor/Management Negotiation Simulation Students will be divided into two teams – labor or management.  They will need to negotiate to create a contract and attempt to meet their demands.	Assignment: TEST FRIDAY!

Monday - Tuesday “A Guide to Giving Back”	Activities Students were divided into groups and have been working on a book research documentary related to different types of needs in the community/world	Homework: Students had 2 weeks to complete project.   Projects are due this Tuesday, November 26. Presentation of projects will be Tuesday!
Wednesday – Invisible Children. Students will watch a documentary about a group of college students who created an organization to help Child Soldiers from Uganda in Africa.  This is an example of others who have "given back" - today's youth making a difference.   Visit Invisible Children's Website by clicking here to learn more. WKCE TESTING WEEK!  Students will be testing in the morning on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Friday – No Civics’ class.  WKCE testing in morning and students will be watching a movie after lunch.

Don't Sweat It - Changes to Lesson Plans

I have added some new video clips/discussion points to the "Ch 13 Economics" powerpoint. As a result, we are off schedule for this week.  Changes have been made to the previously posted lesson plans. 
There is HOMEWORK tonight that is due on Friday. Students need to find an article about Nike's labor practices and oversea factories.
